1993
2000
A 5-year contract is signed with the Piraeus Port Authority.
2001 - 2005
HEC gradually signed contracts with all major Greek ports.
2006
Purchase of the 100,000 DWT Ecomaster vessel and conversion to floating treatment plant.
2010
Global Green Ports Concept comes to life.
2012
The Group acquires the old blending plant of BP, in Piraeus.
2014
Waste Management patent “OILY WASTE TREATMENT ARRAY FOR USE IN MARPOL PLANT IN URBAN ENVIRONMENTS” is approved.
2014
The Group is awarded the 35-year exclusive concession contract to act as a Port Reception Facilities provider in Piraeus.
2015
Green Ports Hamburg was founded after acquiring a state-of-the-art facility located in the strategic center of the port.
2016
Green Ports Gibraltar begins operations as the exclusive Port Reception Facilities Provider in Gibraltar.
2016
The Group commences operations of the state of the art Piraeus facility after an intensive renovation and conversion of the installation to bring it the the highest global waste management standards.
2017 – 2023
HEC Group continues to invest in innovative technologies and expands its services across a broad spectrum of environmental streams. The company has also grown its business organically and through strategic collaborations, securing a dominant position in its field within the European market.
2023
Green Ports Malta begins operations as a Port Reception Facilities Provider in Malta.
